By material
Rates and selling tips for each material
- Copper (Tamba) rateCopper is the most valuable common scrap metal. Buyers pay most for clean, bright wire and pipe, and less for burnt, painted or mixed copper.
- Aluminium (Silver) rateIn Pakistan aluminium cookware is often called silver. Clean sections, utensils and cans sell well; parts with iron screws or plastic attached sell for less.
- Iron (Loha) rateIron and steel are the biggest scrap by weight. The rate per kg is low, but heavy items such as old gates, machinery and sheets add up quickly.
- Plastic Scrap rateClean, sorted plastic sells. PET bottles, hard plastic (HDPE) and crates fetch more than mixed or dirty plastic and shopping bags.
- Raddi (Paper) rateRaddi is old newspaper, books, notebooks and office paper. Dry, sorted paper sells best; wet or mixed paper sells for less.
- Gatta (Cardboard) rateCardboard boxes and cartons from moves, shops and deliveries. Flattened, dry cardboard is easy to sell in bulk.
- E-Waste rateOld computers, laptops, phones, circuit boards and UPS units. Their value comes from the metals inside, so complete and sorted items sell best.
- Glass (Kanch) rateGlass bottles and broken glass (cullet) sell by weight at a low rate. Clean, sorted glass in bulk is what buyers want.
- Tyre and Rubber Scrap rateOld tyres and rubber scrap from cars, bikes and trucks. Sold by weight or by piece to recyclers and re-treaders.
