Our published rates are market rates set by our team from named sources, or medians of completed deals or asking prices, or guide ranges, as labelled on each rate. They describe typical clean, sorted material and can be out of date by the time you sell. See how we calculate rates.

A photo estimate is produced automatically from your photos and today's rates. It can be wrong about the material, the grade or the weight. It is not an offer to buy and no one is bound by it.

The price of a deal is the price per kg and weight that the buyer and seller agree after weighing. Scrap Exchange is not a party to that agreement and doesn't guarantee any price.
